Our talented students compete locally and nationally in many diverse academic areas. Our passionate teachers and accelerated programs are the tools that our amazing students need to compete at this level, and succeed.
Le Grand Concours
An annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
Students of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational background for prizes. Grades 1-6 participate in the FLES Contest. Grades 7-12 in the Secondary Contest.

National History Bee

The National History Bee’s final stage is the National Finals, which sees students from all across the United States compete for the title of National History Bee Grand Champion. The National Finals are held each year during an exciting weekend of competitions and activities.

SCMEA Awards
SCMEA sponsors and organizes numerous All County Music Festivals (Band, Orchestra and Chorus) each year for students in grades 5-10. SCMEA also hosts a PEAK (Parents, Educators, And Kids) Festival for classroom music teachers and students in grade 4, and “Day Of” Festivals in Jazz, Percussion, Recorder, Horn, and Tuba. In addition to offering professional development opportunities for our members, SCMEA serves as an advisory board to local school systems and awards numerous music scholarships to students of Suffolk County school music programs.

The Celebrate America Creative Writing Contest challenges fifth graders across the country to reflect on and write about the theme “Why I Am Glad America Is a Nation of Immigrants.”
The contest begins at the local level, with regional contests run by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) chapters. Each chapter sends its first-place winning entry to the American Immigration Council for the national contest.

Math Olympiads Awards
The Math Olympiads is a wonderful contest that stimulates enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics. It teaches major strategies for problem solving and helps develop Mathematical flexibility and strengthen Mathematical intuition.

GEOBEE Awards

The National Geographic GeoBee is an annual competition designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Students in grades four through eight (4-8) from nearly 10,000 schools across the United States will compete in the 2019 National Geographic GeoBee for a chance to win college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic GeoBee Champion.
